Hometown Holidays is Spring Hill's annual Christmas festival, held the first Saturday in December. Each year in the spirit of the holiday season, the City of Spring Hill and local businesses and organizations come together to organize this free celebration open to anyone who would like to attend. Hometown Holidays 2015 will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on December 5.

In 2013, Hometown Holidays moved from its longtime home at the Spring Hill Civic Center to downtown Main Street. The move brought the event a charming historic setting and highlighted the unique specialty businesses of the downtown area. Many of these businesses join in on the fun by offering treats, activities, and open houses the night of the event.

While we try to organize a fun variety of events old and new each year, you can always look forward to two Hometown Holidays traditions. The event is centered around the lighting of the Mayor's Christmas Tree - a spectacular evergreen that towers over the Spring Hill Police Station. The Spring Hill Citizen of the Year is traditionally responsible for flipping the light switch to set the tree aglow. Santa Claus arrives each year by way of one of Johnson County Fire District No. 2's fire trucks, then settles in for an evening of pictures with the kids.
